February 21, 2026, Representing the Sri Lankan government, Ambassador M.K. Pathma Nathan and Deputy Minister Arun Hemachandra of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Overseas Employment visited major Korean cities to hold forums with Korean business representatives employing Sri Lankan workers. After completing the first forum in Busan on February 21, 2026, they visited Venerable Wansa at the Korean Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple in Yeongcheon. Attorney Lee Jeong-min, Jung Do-gyun, and Secretary General Lee Seong-min from Law Firm Jinsim, who have ties with Venerable Wansa, attended together and explained in detail why Sri Lankan workers transition from E-9 visas to undocumented status, and why E-7-4 visa conversion is absolutely necessary to prevent this.
